My birthday weekend was absolutely fabulous!
Friday I went to The Sanctuary which was lovely, but didn’t quite live up to my (admittedly high) expectations. That night I went to dinner at Souk Medina in Covent Garden with N, J and F. Fantastic time, great food and even better company! Then N and I rode a rickshaw (hahahahhahahah) to Picadilly to The Comedy Store. I swear I laughed so hard I thought I was going to wet myself. I really enjoyed Greg Davis (Mr. Gilbert from The Inbetweeners).
Saturday N and I made French toast (yummmmy!) and just generally relaxed throughout the day. I webcammed with my grandparents as it was also my granddad’s birthday (hurrah!). Then N and I went to Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and saw Henry IV Part 1. It was really, really good. We were standing in the pit right at the stage. I mean, leant on the stage while I watched the performance! So cool! The guy who played Falstaff was spot on and really well suited for the part. After the play we went home and made Zataran’s Jambalaya and ate red velvet cake whilst we watched the Kentucky Wildcats face off against the Florida Gators. We went to sleep at halftime (around 2am). I think we all know how that one ended.
Today was nice too. We slept in and then spent the day slowly cleaning the flat. I took a two hour nap and woke up really confused and unable to remember what day of the week it was and was mumbling something about being unable to get the toast warm enough. Who the hell knows?
So a huuuuuuuuuge thank you to everyone who sent cards, called, texted, emailed and commented on Facebook to tell me happy birthday. I love you all, and I’m so lucky to have such wonderful family and friends in my life.
