The Perfect Sunday

Today has been the day I’ve been needing for weeks–nothing on the calendar, no obligations (for me anyhow) and no cleaning to do (did it on Saturday).

Thankfully, when I got up at 7.30 this morning the sun was shining and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky.  And it was nice and warm out.  Ah!  So N went off to his usual Sunday meeting and I threw the bed linen in the wash and cuddled back up to watch Spongebob Squarepants.  Hung out the linens and decided it was time to get out.

I packed myself a nice little lunch, a bag with a blanket and two cushions and my Kindle and I was off!  I stopped to pick up an iced tea and bottle of water and then walked down the road to the gorgeous park near us.  It was pretty much deserted at 11am… what luck!!!

I settled down into a nice sunny spot, slathered on the sunscreen and did absolutely nothing but read and doze off for two hours straight.  (I’m reading a kicker of a thriller right now by Rosamund Lupton called Sister.  I highly recommend it!)  After a bit, the skies started to cloud up and N showed up (coincidence??) with his lunch.

We then ambled our way home and ended up in our local pub for a drink while we watched the start of the Wimbledon Men’s Finals (yay, Djokovic!!).  Eventually we hauled ourselves out of the pub and made it home to watch the last half of the match (N napped).

And now Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is on and N’s about to try a new dish for dinner… Gordon Ramsay’s Chicken Pad Thai.  Yes!  Perfect day!

How was your Sunday?

Leave some love!
