Salivation Sunday – 8 January 2012

Got a pretty varied list of the things I’m lusting after this week, so it’s probably best to dive right in!

  • I’m absolutely smitten with this totally adorable, unique Cath Kidston bag.  I already have the traditional blue bag with pink roses print in the same style and it is without a doubt the best bag I’ve ever had.  But this bag would be better… it has birds on it.  And it’s on sale.  But it’s still not cheap enough for me to buy it yet.  Cath Kidston always has a fantastic sale this time of year but towards the end, when the stocks are dwindling, the clearance prices get insanely cheap.  I’ll get it then.  Of course I run the risk of not finding it that late into the sale, but I’ll take it.  I’m happy with the bag I’ve got now… this one would just be icing on top.  I think the best part about this (and my) Cath Kidston bag is the fact that it’s made from water resistant oil cloth which, in this country, is always welcome!

  • Continuing with the bag theme, how cool is this purse?  It’s what they call an “altered book.”  Basically, someone’s taken a hardcover book with a really cool cover, ripped out the pages and made it into something else.  Pretty clever.  I’ve seen it done before and I’ve actually read tutorials on how to do it, so I’m pretty confident I could make something relatively as nice.  Except I have this thing about not destroying books.  So there goes that idea.  Instead, I’ll just perv at this awesome Dorian Gray book purse.

  • Holy geeze, how amazing do these cupcakes look?  Nutella brownie cupcakes with vanilla cream cheese frosting–that just tempting obesity, isn’t it?  But they look so easy to make and so incredibly yummy… You and I both know I’m going to have to make them soon.  I’ll just make N take the majority of them into his office.  That’s how I roll; bake away and ship them off for others to eat.

  • Last but most definitely not least, I’m for real jonesing for some Dunkin’ Donuts French Vanilla coffee.  My friend J gave me a bag of the vanilla and of the hazelnut a few months ago and I’ve been hooked ever since.  Sadly, I finished off the vanilla last week and am perilously close to finishing the hazelnut as well.  Flavored coffees aren’t really a “thing” over here so they’re hard to find and stupidly overpriced.  I’m now going to have to rely on care packages from home and trips home with empty suitcases to feed my addiction.  Unless of course any of you lovely people still reading would like to contribute… in which case let me know and I’ll give you my address!
