After last week’s awesome party with HarperImpulse and getting to meet some of my fellow book bloggers, one thing really stuck out for me: we’re a pretty isolated bunch. Many of us don’t get to interact in real life with other bloggers/book lovers and most of our friends are “normal” and manage 2-3 books a month to our 8-9 which means when we’re not working or doing our day jobs, we’re reading.
And if they’re anything like me, they have a tough time making friends in real life and being social.
So here’s what I’m thinking.
Let’s have a party. A Christmas/choose your winter holiday party with drinks and food and festivities and merriment. And books. It doesn’t have to be anything huge or grandiose… we could even have it in a pub.
I just think it would be really nice to meet more of you lovely people, particularly the other writers at Judging Covers.
What does everyone think? Would you want to come?
If you’re interested, drop me a line and I’ll start planning. If not, I can always sit in the pub by myself (as usual, with a book).
Also, I’m thinking of doing a Secret Santa thing, via the post for anyone who wants to participate but can’t make it to London. The idea would be to gift a used book of your own that you’d like to share with another blogger. If you’re interested in taking part in that as well, please email me!
Let’s make this happen!
