A better week this time around, thank goodness! Despite the Tube strike and few blue moments I’d say that all in all it’s been an okay week. Anyhow, it’s Thursday, and you know what that means!
This week I’m loving
- Dr Phil episodes on YouTube. Yeah, they’re trashy but they’re just a smidge on the classier side of trashy so I feel no shame! I can now binge on episodes like “Our Mother Left our Family for a Catfish” or “Love Triangle Descisions” and “A Secret Family Tragedy.” Oh yes, my friends, you thought I was a homebody before? Now I definitely have no reason to go out!
- We’ve had a teeny tiny bit of sunshine this week, particularly on Tuesday which was super nice. We’re back to the dreary now but the brief sunshine was a nice pick me up. It’s made me super hopeful for an early spring, particularly as it hasn’t been bitterly cold here yet apart from a day or two and we definitely haven’t had even a mention of snow. Fingers crossed.
- Last but definitely not least, I finally got my hair cut! After a disasterous encounter with Super Cuts (never, never EVER again) last summer, I’ve had to put off getting anything done to my hair as my shortest “layer” (and I use that term loosely) was above my ears. Disaster.
It’s now got shape and texture and volume and it just feels and looks so much nicer. I can actually style it now without weird bits waving/sticking up. And I can still pull it back into a ponytail. Result! And at the price I paid for it, I actually paid LESS than I would at Super Cuts. Why people aren’t flocking to this salon I’ll never know!
Based in Balham, stylist Yasmen has set herself up in the back of Jacksons for Hair (which is a barber shop) and is doing her own thing! I first came across Yasmen on Wahanda and after reading all of the excellent reviews and seeing the prices, I had to give her a go. Yasmen was warm and friendly and chatty and really consulted with me about her every snip which really put me at ease. We even swapped horrible haircut stories! If you’re in the Balham, Tooting or Clapham area and want a quality cut at a super duper price (I’ve paid as much as £100 before), book with Yasmen. I’ll definitely be going back!
