WWW Wednesday – April 4, 2018

WWW WednesdayI’ve been seeing a couple of bookish memes floating around out there so thought it might be fun to participate. I love the idea of WWW Wednesday–just a quick look at what other people are reading gets me inspired about what to read next… and probably contributes to my TBR pile being ridiculously huge.  Bookworm problems, amirite?

This weekly meme is hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of WordsAnyone can participate, book blogger or not!  Be sure to click on any covers you’re interested in to go through to the book’s page on Goodreads!

To join in, just answer the following three questions…
• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?

I’m currently reading…The Cyclist
The Cyclist by Anthony Neil Smith.  This one is out in May and you can read my review here.  Anthony is also currently working on a guest post which will be published closer to the pub date on May 8th.  This one is a little different to what I’d normally read, but I’m enjoying it so far!

The Girl in the Tower - Katherine ArdenI just finished...
The Girl in the Tower by Katherine Arden.  This is book two in the Winternight Trilogy and I loved it just as much as the first book, The Bear and the Nightingale.  After reading a couple of really great books, I’d fallen into a bit of a reading slump (also known as a book hangover) and couldn’t quite get into anything.  I even had trouble with The Girl in the Tower but I knew the book would be solid and I love Arden’s beautiful writing, plus I needed some serious chick kicking butt action, and this book did not disappoint at all.  Can we just skip to August when book three is released, please?  Read my review here.

Next up…The Leavers
I try and space out my ARCs with books from my personal TBR shelf so that I feel like I’m whittling down my pile and still providing advance reviews.  That system seems to be working out pretty good so far and I haven’t gotten burnt out like I did several years ago… yet!  The Cyclist is an ARC so I think after I’ve finished, I’ll be picking up The Leavers by Lisa Ko.  I’ve heard nothing but good things and she was recently here in Charlottesville for the Virginia Festival of the Book which I sadly missed. It’s been sitting on my Kindle for a few months so I’m excited to read it.

There you go!  My first ever WWW Wednesday!  What are you reading? What should I add to my pile?

  1. As a cyclist myself, I’m interested in what a book with that tile could be about! I hope the release goes well for the author. Happy reading and thanks for participating in WWW Wednesday!

Leave some love!
