WWW Wednesday – April 11, 2018

WWW WednesdayIt’s Wednesday again, and that means another round of WWW Wednesday!

This weekly meme is hosted by Sam at Taking on a World of WordsAnyone can participate, book blogger or not!  Be sure to click on any covers you’re interested in to go through to the book’s page on Goodreads!

To join in, just answer the following three questions…
• What are you currently reading?
• What did you recently finish reading?
• What do you think you’ll read next?

What I’m currently reading…
The LeaversSocial CreatureI haven’t read two books at the same time since college, so I’m giving my brain a bit of a challenge this week and am reading both The Leavers and Tara Isabella Burton’s Social Creature concurrently.  I’ve been wanting to read The Leavers for a while now, and I’m glad I finally picked it up.  It’s very good but also heavy and sad… so I needed something different to break that up.  My ARC of Social Creature is doing very well at that… so much so that I’ve gotten sucked into the lives of Lavinia and Louise!  Reviews for both books will be live soon.

What I just finished...
Flat BrokeI love book clubs (I host my own in our small town) so when I found out about Big Library Read I couldn’t help but join in.  This month’s book was Flat Broke With Two Goats: A Memoir of Appalachia.  I flew through this book which was a very easy read.  I don’t get the chance to read a lot of memoirs, so this was a nice break from the norm for me.  It’s also been fun reading everyone’s thoughts about this one online.  I’ll have a review up later this week!

What’s up next…
CirceOur Kind of CrueltyI can’t decide.  My copy of Madeline Miller’s hotly anticipated Circe hit my welcome mat yesterday and I don’t know if I’ll be able to resist its siren call (ha, pun). Oh and did anyone see that Amazon briefly had it listed for pre-order for $2.79 the other day? I scored a copy, of course.  Clever marketing ploy or typo–whatever the case may be–I couldn’t pass it up!  I’m also dying to read either of my BOTM choices this month, but Araminta Hall’s Our Kind of Cruelty has the edge at the moment.  Not sure which book I’ll end up with yet!

Whew!  I’ve already read 28 books out of my 50 book goal this year… I’m thinking I may have to up that goal to 75!  Where are you guys at for the year?  What are you reading this week?
